Mission Week 28, Bogota City Week 11, "New Mission President"

This week was super great!

We had a lot of time to be able to visit with the Galeano Sanchez family. They are accepting to do all the things that the Lord has asked of them. One thing that is stopping us for now is that the father, William, has a smoking problem. He wants to quit, but he really likes to smoke. This is my first time helping someone with an addiction. I know that one thing will help him, and that's reading in the Book of Mormon. If he can really feel in his heart that these things are true, and the love that our Father in Heaven has for him I know that he'll have the desire and strength to quit. For now we're going to focus on reading the Book of Mormon with him. William didn't come to church this Sunday, which was pretty sad, but his wife (Nelfi) and daughter (Juana) came. They are pressing forward and are wanting to do everything they can to do the right things.

We met our new president this week. His name is President Valladares. He and his wife are from Honduras. They super cool and you can feel the love they have for each and every one of use as they introduced themselves.

They're are many missionaries ending their missions after this week. We've heard that about 16 new missionaries from the U.S will be coming in the next coming weeks. I hope that I can be apart of the activity that the MTC here has. I might get to take two fresh missionaries with me for the day! It's amazing to see how much you can learn in such a short amount of time. I remember going out for this activity in the MTC and OH boy have I grown so much haha.

You have to focus on the little things if you want to have success. If not then you`re just working hard for no reason, and the results that you wanted will not turn out the way you want them. For me I have seen the importance of goal setting, but then setting smaller goals to complete the big ones. For example, I want to learn spanish. That is a goal that I have. Now, what am I going to do to accomplish that goal? I`m going to set smaller goals. Those goals are, reading the Book of Mormon in spanish, learning vocabulary, grammer, pronunciation. Then, how are you going to complete those goals!? You have to identify everything possible that will help you to complete your big goal, and then start working on how you`re going to complete the small ones. If you do that, you can be successful in just about everything you want to do. Set planes, for every little thing that you`re trying to accomplish.

Impressions of Bogotà
I live right next to the president of Colombia, his name is President Duque.

I love you all, and hope you have a great week!
