Week 1, Columbia Bogota MTC "The Beginning"

I've arrived safely in the Bogota MTC! I meet some great people on my flights and ended up coming here with about 6 other missionaries. When we first arrived at Bogota and got off the plane we had to go through customs and it was funny because this one guy was just not letting any of the missionaries through since we didn't have an address written down for where we would be staying. We had all put the MTC and i guess that did't work but i think he got the message after we all started pulling out books of mormon from our bags so he just waved us to come through because we were holdiing up the line haha. When we got our bags and headed out to the plaza there was this HUGE group of people waiting for all types of family. It looked like a stampede just before black Friday. My bags weighed a ton so I had to kindly ask people to move and it took me about 30 mins just to clear that room! I saw my mission president and he greeted us and the first thing he wanted us to do was transfer $50 of U.S money into pesos. But my card declined when i tried and I was the only one that it didn't work for. I guess I'm broke haha! Other than that we arrived at the MTC at about midnight and i didn't get to bed until about 2am. but I woke up with so much energy this morning so it's all good! We have warm showers here which is nice but I think the water heater is broken because it flips out a lot, like you'll be taking a warm shower and then it will change instantly to freeezinng cold and then back to super duper hot. I had Some warm milk and coco pebbles this morning and I FEEL GREAT!! I'm greatly appreciating this opportunity and I will make the most out of everyday that I'm here! Love you all!|

At his stop over in SLC airport a member texted us the following picture where he met some missionaries going out from the Provo MTC and one Elder heading to Columbia too.

Elder Horton departed from Burbank Airport today to Salt Lake City over to Atlanta Georgia and down to Columbia to arrive at the Bogota Columbia MTC.  We are excited for his mission call to the Columbia Bogota North Mission and look forward to sharing the next two years with all that will be interested to hear from him.
